Javakheti is renowned for its multitude of lakes. Paravani Lake, the largest lake in Georgia, along with other significant lakes such as Kartsakhi, Khanchali, Madatapa, Saghamo, Paskia, and Bughdasheni, grace the landscape of Javakheti.

These lakes, simply referred to as the Samsari Range Lakes by Bisna due to their absence from maps, sit at an elevation of about 2800 meters (9186 ft) above sea level.
